More photos from my neighborhood

This is where I live in Astoria.

I'm also excited, because I got a new flash for my Canon A-1. However, I am afeard to get the photos developed. I think they probably are... not... good... because I don't know how to use it. The flash, that is.

The idea of spending $10 to view my own failure has me completely paralyzed. For the first time in my life, undeveloped rolls of film remain in my purse.

Review on "My Christian Fiction Blog"

Cecelia Dowdy has a review of my book on her blog which I really like. She says she thinks I would have had my problems even if I had been raised Catholic or Baptist.

(Read the review here)

That's a great point, and the kind of question I ask myself all the time. It's also the sort of dialogue I was hoping the book would start. So, thank you Cecelia, for pointing that out.

Canyon News Review

There is a very nice review of I'M PERFECT on Canyon News: right over here.

It's also a recommended summer read in Rhode Island Monthly. Hear that, Scar-bora Beach?

Astoria's Got Talent

I am going to get on Britain's Got Talent.

I have decided. It is my destiny. It is to be.

First of all, I've always dreamed of singing and yet never had the chance (ehem, Susan Boyle, ehem). Secondly, I am daddy's angel and I always get what I want.

Here are my three submissions:

Fuck you, Susan Boyle. You are nothing to me. NOTHING!

Aaron-Luke - The Musical

Aaron-Luke stays out in the sun too long and has a waking nightmare.

Cynthea - Wife of a Ministerial Servant

Cynthea discusses her unusual lunch with the Circuit Overseer.

That's it! My horoscope says that the book signing should be avoided!

"Today you might find yourself temporarily catapulted into the public eye when you'd rather go off somewhere and hide, Kyria. Perhaps a premonition you once expressed has actually manifested, and others want to discuss it with you, or maybe you'll be asked to repeat a story you once told. If you really aren't in the mood for conversation, perhaps it's best to avoid social events or other group gatherings. Your friends will probably want you to entertain them."

I'll be reading from inside my closet. Oh, if only I wasn't an Aquarius!

I will also be dressed like this:

Book signing at Seaburn on Friday!

I would love to see you at my book signing this Friday!

I would like to go to Zenon Taverna afterward. Please RSVP if you'd like to come out so I can make an adequate reservation.

7:00pm - 10:00pm
Seaburn Books
33-18 Broadway
Astoria

(I was going to have a book release party to follow, but I'm having what they call "contract issues" (ie: "not getting paid) issues at work, so I couldn't pay for all the complimentary bacon-wrapped dates and margaritas this month.)

Why there is no book in your hands...

Sorry for the delay in the book giveaway contest! Who knew I'd have to find a new place to LIVE last week? Ah, life!
